Some fabrics may have dye residue left over from the print or dying process, washing your fabric on its own is advised before use to avoid colour run.
natural fibres may have some shrinkage on their first wash, this is expected with natural fibres, washing before cutting your pattern is advised.
Do not use washing detergent that contains optical brighteners, it makes dark fabrics dull and fade.
