Softshell is a water resistant fabric with a fleece on the back face.
most soft shells are not stretchy but some may have a little stretch in one direction for ease of wear.
softshell can be used for coats, over trousers and various other projects.
microtex needles are advised when sewing with softshell plus waterproof tape for the seams to give extra protection.
softshell doesn’t need to be lined, but that is personal preference, polar fleece is commonly used to line softshell when making coats, but it is personally preference.
