About cotton fleece & suitable uses

cotton fleece unlike polyester fleece can be used for baby garments.
Our cotton fleece is a beautiful soft brushed fleece, the face and reverse of this fabric is the same making it a great choice if you want to make a fleece jacket etc.

Suitable for a wide range of projects including but not limited to jackets, jumpers, joggers, hats, snoods etc

natural fibres can have some shrinkage please wash before cutting your pattern.

Do not wash with other fabrics on the first wash, there may be fluff and dye residue left over from the manufacturing process.

due to the cotton content this fabric would also make a great choice for a soft fleecy swim towel or a backing for a bib, sanitary products etc.

cotton fleece is absorbent and breathable.

DISCLAIMER

Cotton fleece when wet will become very heavy.

like towels cotton when washed and dry lined this fabric is softer with tumble drying however air drying will keep your fabrics looking their best for longer.

our advice if using a tumble dryer is to put on a low heat when the fabric is almost dry.

we do not recommend drying on a high heat and we would recommend avoiding tumble drying where possible.

To keep your fabrics looking nicer for longer we do not recommend tumble drying from wet.

we strongly recommend you wash this fabric on its own for the first wash, there will be some fibres that are loose on the cut ends and they may cling to other fabrics during the washing process. We do not take any responsibility for any items that become fuzzy due to being washed with this fabric. After the first wash this fabric will be fine to wash as part of a garment, ie if it’s lining a jersey for example.

Although this fabric is very soft to the touch, it can act like an abrasive towel when washed with other garments. We advise that you wash this fabric alone for its first wash.

Fabric Length

All of our fabrics are sold per metre unless otherwise stated in the title.

All of our Fabrics are cut in a continuous length where possible when purchased from the same product listing.

If ordering larger quantities (over 5m), it may be necessary to send your fabric in more than 1 piece. Many of our fabrics come on 10m bolts and joins or test holes are common which may result in us having to send a larger quantities in more than one length.

We will always do our best to keep your fabric in a continuous length, if we come across a minor issue where we assess that there is good useable fabric around the issue (normally a test hole) we may leave your fabric in one length and add additional length to compensate for the issue to avoid cutting your fabric in more than one length.

If for any reason we can’t keep your fabric in a continuous length under 5m you will be contacted.

we can not guarantee fabric purchased from 2 different product listings will be cut in a continuous length. For example purchasing a bundle and purchasing the same fabric individually may not be cut in a continuous length.

Caring for your fabrics & handmade items

Always wash your fabric on its own for the first wash.

Fabrics may have dye or print residue left over from the print / dye process.

You should avoid washing your fabrics with zips, Velcro etc and ensure fastenings are closed before washing finished garments.

Natural fibres will have a small percentage of shrinkage, washing your fabric prior to cutting your fabric is recommended.
