Deadstock Fabrics

DEAD STOCK

Is generally fabric that is excess from manufacturing factories. However this is not always the case.

i Have personally inspected fabric from within this range and I am confident you will be as happy with this fabric as I am.

other than being dusty which is to be expected, this fabric is too good to go to landfill!

Due to this fabric being Deadstock we do need to add a disclaimer and set expectations on what we do and don’t expect for your purchase.

YOU AGREE AND UNDERSTAND WHEN BUYING DEADSTOCK FABRICS THAT THE FOLLOWING MAY APPLY

Fabric weight gsm

We feel that it is important for our customers to know the weight of a fabric to gain an idea of the type of fabric they are buying.

we will be weighing and doing calculations to give you an idea.. please note that we do not have a machine that manufacturers have to make this a precise weight. With that in mind the weight could be out a little plus or minus.

COMPOSITIONS

This is also something the fabric does not come with, we have an idea of what the fabric is and we only buy fabric we believe to be of a quality that we feel our customers deserve. But you agree and acknowledge that we do not have 100% accurate compositions and the listings will contain details to the best of our knowledge.

WIDTH

You understand we will measure the width of the fabric, however that width may not be 100% accurate through the entirety of that design and it is to be expected it may be out by a few cms

OEKO TEX CERTIFIED

As is now becoming more standardised across retailers and manufacturers there is always a chance that the fabric you will receive will be oeko tex certified.

However as we do not know the details we will not be listing the certification and we would advise you expect it not to be certified.

DIRT MARKS WHAT IS AND ISN'T ACCEPTABLE

Dirty marks within 3 inch of the selvedge is to be expected. due to this fabric being Deadstock it is likely to have been stored in factories and dirt is to be expected within 3 inches of the selvedge.
It is expected that the fabric will be dusty and require a prewash. It is not expected that the fabric you will receive will have stains or flaws that won’t come out with a wash. As a lot of this fabric will have been stored dust is the biggest issue that we normally see with Deadstock.

please note that when buying more than 3 meters if a fault arises that we would normally cut out, we will not cut it out to ensure you receive continuous meterage, instead we will add extra onto the meterage to take into account the fault.

WASHING AND CARING FOR YOUR FABRIC

As with all of our fabrics we advise to prewash.

we strongly advise with this due to dust. It is also advised due to possible shrinkage expected with natural fibres

some fabrics may have dye and residue left over from the manufacturing process. It is advised that you wash your item/fabric alone until the water runs clear.

HEAT WHEN WASHING IRONING

high heat is not advised with fabrics that contain elastane or polyester or delicate fabrics. Fabrics may be damaged due to high temperatures.

Avoid tumble drying

Customers understand it is their responsibility to choose the correct care method for their fabrics acting with caution if you are unsure. you may find our facebook group helpful to see what other customers are making or to ask advice.

when in doubt avoid high temperature washes, avoid direct heat from an iron, avoid tumble drying.

We can not accept responsibility for fabrics that are damaged due to incorrect wash care.

we do not advise

Colour catchers they can draw the dye out of a fabric

optical brighteners, these can dull dark fabrics

Bleach this could damage your fabric

you wash any delicate fabrics with harsh fibres and items like towels, jeans, zips etc, these will damage your finished garment or fabric.

EVERY EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO TAKE IMAGES AND DESCRIBE THE FABRIC PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THE DESCRIPTION
